Visit some of Ecuador’s most iconic destinations as part of this tour. Begin in beautiful Quito, a city unlike any other, tucked away deep inside the Andes Mountains. Here, you’ll visit the most well-preserved Historic Center in all of Latin America. Explore the scientific wonder that is the equator in the Middle of the World.  And, all the while, taste some delightful food and enjoy the warmth of the Ecuadorian people.

Day by Day

Day 1: Arrive in Quito

A member of our team will greet you at the airport and assist you with your luggage. They will then escort you to your hotel in Quito. Along the way, receive a brief overview with useful information about Quito and Ecuador.

Day 2: Old Town Quito + Middle of the World

Quito’s incredible Historic Quarter awaits! This is the most well-preserved old town in all of Latin America. It has even been deemed a UNESCO World Heritage Site! After exploring this exciting spot, you’ll head to the Middle of the World and learn all about the significance of the equator!

Following this excursion through the capital region, you’ll fly from Quito to Galapagos and board Yacht Isabela II in time to set sail on your 5-day journey through the center of the archipelago. Along the way, you’ll see native and endemic species up close, at sea, and on the ground as you explore the islands via activities such as hiking, snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, and riding along in a glass-bottom boat. At all times, you’ll be traveling in comfort and style, accompanied by Galapagos National Park-certified Naturalist Guides and a crew of dedicated individuals ready to make your trip the very best it can be.

Days 3: Arrive in Galapagos / Santa Cruz Island

Take an early transfer to the airport and fly to the Galapagos. Arrive at the airport in Baltra, shuttle to the Itabaca Channel, and ferry across to Santa Cruz Island. Enjoy lunch in the highlands and continue on to Puerto Ayora. Once there, you’ll visit the Charles Darwin Research Station and observe numerous giant tortoises. Afterward, you’ll take a dinghy (panga) from the dock to Yacht Isabela II, check in, and be welcomed aboard by the Captain with a special cocktail and dinner.

Day 4: Santa Fe & South Plaza Islands

Overnight, the ship will make its way to Santa Fe Island, where you’ll enjoy a hike and view colonies of sea lions, Galapagos hawks, and the brilliant yellow Santa Fe land iguana. In the afternoon, the ship makes its way to South Plaza Island where turquoise waters await along with white sand beaches and a coastline featuring volcanic rock. Here, you’ll spot a number of sea birds hovering about the cliffs, in a flurry of activity.

Day 5: North Seymour and Santa Cruz Islands (Las Bachas)

At North Seymour Island, you’ll have the opportunity to explore its beautiful coastline via snorkeling, dinghy and glass-bottom boat rides, hiking, and more! Discover the fascinating underwater world that awaits in the Galapagos! In the afternoon, we’ll visit an important nesting area for Pacific green sea turtles at Las Bachas on Santa Cruz Island. Nearby lagoons are feeding grounds for various wading birds, including the American flamingo. Back on the beach, you’ll be able to swim or snorkel.

Day 6: Bartolomé & Santiago Islands

Bartolomé Island is one of the most iconic sites in all of the Galapagos. A short climb to the top of a picturesque hill offers a postcard view of this spectacular place. You’ll have a chance to enjoy the beach and take part in activities, such as snorkeling or riding in a glass-bottom boat. The afternoon will be spent at Sullivan Bay on Santiago Island where a white coral-sand beach awaits, along with another chance to fit in a little swimming or snorkeling. In addition to the amazing beach, there is a trail that goes over a lava field that flowed here over 100 years ago.

Day 7: Transfer to Airport / Farewell!

On this day you’ll enjoy a short transfer to the airport on Baltra Island. There, you’ll catch your flight back to the mainland. Safe travels!
