Day by Day
Day 1: Arrive in Quito
Day 2: Old Town Quito + Middle of the World
Quito’s incredible Historic Quarter awaits! This is the most well-preserved old town in all of Latin America. It has even been deemed a UNESCO World Heritage Site! After exploring this exciting spot, you’ll head to the Middle of the World and learn all about the significance of the equator!
Following this excursion through the capital region, you’ll fly from Quito to Galapagos and board Yacht Isabela II in time to set sail on your 5-day journey through the center of the archipelago. Along the way, you’ll see native and endemic species up close, at sea, and on the ground as you explore the islands via activities such as hiking, snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, and riding along in a glass-bottom boat. At all times, you’ll be traveling in comfort and style, accompanied by Galapagos National Park-certified Naturalist Guides and a crew of dedicated individuals ready to make your trip the very best it can be.
Days 3: Arrive in Galapagos / Santa Cruz Island
Take an early transfer to the airport and fly to the Galapagos. Arrive at the airport in Baltra, shuttle to the Itabaca Channel, and ferry across to Santa Cruz Island. Enjoy lunch in the highlands and continue on to Puerto Ayora. Once there, you’ll visit the Charles Darwin Research Station and observe numerous giant tortoises. Afterward, you’ll take a dinghy (panga) from the dock to Yacht Isabela II, check in, and be welcomed aboard by the Captain with a special cocktail and dinner.
Day 4: Santiago Island & Chinese Hat Islet
Discover Puerto Egas on Santiago Island
Upon arriving at the remarkable black sandy beach, our adventure allowed us to closely observe land iguanas that have been reintroduced to the area, as well as both land and sea birds, all set against a striking landscape of layered tuff-stone, rugged rocks, and lava formations. Marine iguanas were seen feeding on algae at low tide, and fur seals were found resting in the cool shadows cast by the rocks.
Explore Chinese Hat Islet
This small, picturesque island makes for a delightful afternoon journey with its 400-meter trail at a crescent-shaped beach with soft, white sand. The inviting cove provides excellent conditions for swimming and snorkeling, offering the chance to see white-tipped reef sharks and delightful Galapagos penguins.
Day 5: Genovesa Island
Experience Prince Phillip’s Steps on Genovesa Island
Start your day with a pleasant boat ride along the cliffs of “Bird Island,” also known as Genovesa. Then, you’ll arrive at a wooden staircase leading to a large plateau. The trail goes through big groups of Nazca boobies, red-footed boobies, magnificent frigatebirds, and graceful storm petrels. Keep an eye out for the hard-to-find short-eared owl. If you choose not to land, you can take a longer boat ride along the cliffs, depending on the weather. You can also do other activities like snorkeling and kayaking.
Explore Darwin Bay on Genovesa Island
After enjoying a fulfilling lunch, we make our way to the untouched white sands of Darwin Bay. In this natural sanctuary, you have the opportunity to engage closely with a variety of bird species, including but not limited to frigatebirds, red-footed and Nazca boobies, as well as gulls, herons, finches, and mockingbirds.

Day 6: Santa Fe Island & South Plaza Island
Explore Santa Fe Island
Embark on a charming dinghy journey to the tranquil, white sandy beaches of Santa Fe Island, renowned for its lively sea lion populations. Be looking for the majestic Galapagos hawks, elegantly resting on salt bushes. During your exploration, you may spot the unique Santa Fe land iguana. Wrap up your excursion with the choice to snorkel and swim near a natural wave barrier or enjoy a ride on a glass-bottom boat.
Discover South Plaza Island
Following a fulfilling lunch break, proceed with a dry landing onto a channel marked by its turquoise waters, creating a stunning contrast against the coastline’s white sands and black lava. As you explore further, discover a vivid expanse of scarlet sesuvium succulents covering the ground, interspersed with bright green prickly-pear cacti. Beneath these cacti, yellow-grey land iguanas can be seen waiting for fallen pears from these cacti. Along the coastline, lively colonies of sea lions can be observed, while overhead, frigates, swallow-tailed gulls, and shearwaters glide gracefully, taking advantage of the thermal currents.
Day 7: Transfer to Airport / Farewell!
